Travel PeeWee Program:
The travel Pee Wee program is designed for the player that wants to play more games and be competitive. The emphasis is on skill development practicing twice a week and playing one to two games a week. There will be no overnights or Sunday practices or games unless the team is involved in a tournament. The team will only be involved in two tournaments. Twenty to twenty five games will be played during the season with 50% at home and 50% within 1 1/2 hours from home ice. One tournament will be hosted at home and the other away. The second tournament and location is at the discretion of the coach and parents to match experience level and competition.

At the first half of the Pee Wee season each player should be able to perform all of the Mite/Squirt skills listed.

At the end of the season each player should be able to:
A. Demonstrate full-leg extension and an expanded thrust.
B. Perform the “side” and “inside” fakes.
C. Shoot a snap shot while standing still or moving quickly.
D. Execute the poke-check.
E. Properly backcheck into his defensive position.
F. Perform in his position:
      1. Two breakout patterns.
      2. Offensive & defensive zone positioning.
      3. Regrouping in neutral ice.
      4. One basic power play format.
      5. The ”box” and “triangle” defensive formations.
G. Explain and perform offensive & defensive faceoff responsibilities in various situations.
H. Explain and begin to perform simple forechecking methods.
I. Explain and perform the use of “points” in the offensive zone and defending against the “point” in the defensive zone.
J. Demonstrate proper stick-pads & glove coordination in the position of goaltender.
K. Demonstrate the theory of “getting open” for a pass.
L. Show his “Saints Hockey Pride” at practices, games, and around the rink.

Parent Involvement!
We request parent involvement during the hockey season and at fund raisers.
We do not require mandatory hours.
Our association is a fully volunteer family that keeps the rink and concession stand functioning.
Please let us know what area you would like to be involved in: any skills you have, its fun to be involved, share your talents, and support your children in this way.
